GUCCI HAIR

For Spring/Summer 2009 Gucci showcased only what I can describe as Hair Heaven.

The Hair this season was quite fitting for a 1970's bond girl, soft, sexy, and Uber groomed.

The hair was bouncy and shiney with a side parting, very sexy but soft at the same time.
The hair was created using big tongs and roller set for maximum bounce.

This is the hair I will be sporting this summer! I may add a few hair pieces for more volume, fullness.

Video tutorial coming soon, watch this space ......

NEW YEAR NEW HAIR?

HAPPY 2009!

Its a New Year! Do you have any New Year's Resolutions?

I do, my plan is to to undertake a hair care routine to get my hair looking luxe and gorgeous for summer.

I want that gorgeous shiny luxe looking hair!

To achieve glossy nourished locks I would recommend a using treatments and having a hair care plan.
The one brand that I always see instant results from using there products is Phyto.

I have dry hair and to get my hair in great condition for summer I will be using the following products.

Huile D'Ales:

This is a pre shampoo oil treatment that has a blend of plant oils, which revitalizes and adds shine to my hair. I use this once a week, maybe twice depending on how many times I've used heat on my hair.

Phytojoba:

This is a gentle shampoo which hydrates the hair and helps maintain healthy condition.

Phytokarite:

This is an intense treatment that helps repair and rejuvenate very dry and damaged hair. Leaving my hair soft and shiny.

Phyto 7:

I use this to maintain my hairs moisture levels and I use this on damp hair or dry and in between washes.

Doing the hair care regime should give me the Gucci hair I want by Summer!

I have used so many products but this brand always seems to give my hair what it needs.

Phyto also have a great range for Afro and curly hair called Phytospecific.

Victoria's Secret HAIR

OK, I've, noticed a lot of us girls would kill to achieve the Victoria's Secret hair.

Its not as hard as you may think.

Every time I go out on a Girls night out, this is the look that I get asked to do time and time again.

The look is simply based on setting the hair and using hair pieces.

You need to use good products and with time and practice you could become a pro at this sex kitten hairstyle.

What you need: hair dryer, tongs, hair pieces (for volume and length), setting spray, a good hairspray.

On damp hair spritz through a setting lotion, I like Loreal Pli.

Blow dry the hair sleek and preferably use a round brush to get the ends under.

Section the hair and start to tong (large/medium barrel) in sections first using a bit of hair spray on each section and clip (I would use a brick wind set ). (you can use roller, but i prefer barrel curls)

The key is that once you have finished the set, leave it in as long as possible to let the hair cool down and so that the curls can set into place.

Whilst your hair is setting this is the perfect time to tong the hair pieces and clip the curls so that they cool down.

Once you have removed the clips, section where you will place the hair pieces. once hair pieces are secure now you can either use a rake to combe through or a mason and Pearson style brush.

p.s Don't forget the Elnette to keep your style in for longer.

I love this hairstyle, it is a real head turner, its sexy glamorous and fun.
p.s, I'm in the process of making a tutorial for this style will upload soon.

Brazillian Keratin Treatment/ Brazillian Blowdry

Ok so a few years ago I was on vacation In Rio, and decided to have a manicure and pedicure. In the Salon I notice a few women having a treatment done to their hair. In Rio and most of Brazil the Fashion is to have sleek long hair.
The treatment was taking hair from being frizzy/curly to sleek straight in a matter of hours, but the process was not like the harsh straigtening treatments that were available in the UK, it was nourishing and strengthening the hair at the same time!!!!!

I was soo impressed I begged the hairstylist to explain all. He told me that the treatment could be used on all hair types, including chemically treated hair (coloured, permed, relaxed, highlighted and bleached). He told me that the product was applied similar to a hair clourant and after the application of the keratin treatment, it is sealed with a hot iron which traps moisture, hydrates the hair and creates a glossy finish. The only drawback was that the product would be broken down by salt, so you can only use certain shampoos that do not contain Sodium Chloride and Sodium Laureth.

So 3 years after my Trip to Rio I decided I should start offering this service on my friends prior to using on m y cleints, well all i can say is that my friends have been raving about it!!! I have done it on afro hair twice and european hair and asian hair and all are totally loving the results!!
I will add pictures when I have time but here are some pictures I found on cyber space!

PARIS - BACKSTAGE SHOWS

Paris was amazing!

I was fortunate enough to assist some totally amazing and creative people.

The highlight of Paris for me was working at the Galliano Show. This has to be for Hair and Make up one of the most Creative shows you can work on!! I assisted the wonderful and very talented Julien Dy's.

The References for the show were James Gillray and Queen Elizabeth’s guards. The hair was fun and very creative as was the make up.

These are my own backstage black and white pictures.

The hair was a mix of the models own hair and some of the models wearing prestyled wigs.

This was the show of Paris Fashion Week for me. I was over excited about this show!

Another show that I worked at in Paris was the Sonia Rykiel show and 40th annieversary. The show was held at Parc de Saint- Cloud in Paris.

The models hair was pin set for a Donna Summer like hair style, the hair looked awesome sitting under the beautiful sequined beret's.

There were 2 different shows that evening, the first show, was the Sonia Rykiel S/S 09 collection. The second show was a hommage to Sonia Rykiel, the models wore garments designed by various designers, such as, Karl Largerfeld, Martin Magiella, Stella Mccartney. The hair for the second show was loose and slightly wavey.

Backstage:

Me and the lovely Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman.

Super Sonia Rykiel!
